I hope to learn how to make 3D art and get better at it. I am not much of an artist, I never really enjoyed it. My goals are to turn things in on time and get it done the best I can do. The risks I will take are, I will go out of my comfort zone when making art and not be scared to ask for ideas.
Claude Monet The Water Lily Pond 1899 Oil Paint The National Gallery and Metropolitan Museum of Art I chose The Water Lily Pond by Monet because I really liked how it looked. I like the colors and everything looks realistic. I have never seen this artwork before, but the first time I saw it, it kind of just pulled me in. I have seen some of Monet's artworks and heard his name many times before. I think that he might of had some sort of connection to the bridge and the pond, or maybe he went on a walk, saw it and wanted to make an artwork on it. I think he liked the view and it made him want to make it. I think this artwork is successful. For one, it made it onto the Arts and Culture website, it makes people think about the art, and he drew it.
This is my color wheel. I used more than four in most of the colors. I made sure that yellow was on the top. When I compared the wheel to Mrs Underhills four of the colors were switched, but I thinks it's fine because red and green are still across from each other. It was kind of fun making this because I had to find things in the kitchen, my room, and even my brothers room. I like how my artwork turned out. I think it looks really good. My favorite item in the color wheel is the light blue chapstick or the yellow carmex chapstick.
For my Earth Day Art I decided to go on a walk with my dogs and take pictures of nature. I just went down my driveway and in the woods and found so many beautiful sights. The thing I like about this art/photo collage was that everything I took a picture of was natural. Everything was made by nature and wasn't changed by a human. I had fun doing this, I was with my dogs and it was just a new experience because I've never seen some of these parts of my woods. I picked to do this art because I didn't have to go far and I had an excuse to get outside and see new things. Doing this art made me think and realize how much I took advantage of living out in the middle of no where and I never really saw the earth that way.
FOr my artwork I knew that I had to do something with physical or material limitations. I wasn't sure at first, but I figured it out and my original was was going to be a drawing with lead, which I found pretty boring. I got to thinking and asking people questions and decided I was going to use chalk. I used material limitations. I didn't really have any goals for my artwork. I wasn't expecting anything, I just sat down and started drawing whatever came into my head. I had some difficulties because I couldn't find the right place, either the cement was really dirty and I didn't have a whole lot of options for colors. I just drew colors and blended them together and on one of them I put a tree line and the reflection like it was on water. On the other I just drew and blended different colors, I didn't really know what I was drawing I just drew.
I got feedback from my friends. I asked them what I should draw and when I got done they all said it looked really good. One of them said that I should blend stuff in more, so I went back to work and did that. In the end I really liked how they turned out. For my limitation artwork I used chalk. I looked online at a lot of different artworks and watched the video of Phil Hansen and didn't know what to do at first. I was at first going to do something simple with a pencil until Mrs. Underhill gave me different ideas. I found chalk and kind of just started drawing things. Some difficulties I had was that I had to put on a lot of chalk to spread it and make them mix together. I honestly had fun doing this artwork because I haven't played with chalk in years. In the end I actually kinda liked this art. I feel like the colors could've been brighter or even different colors, but that's kind of the point of this artwork. Making art with limitations.
I drew the laughing face emoji becuase I've been using that one a lot lately. It's probably my favorite one. I was going to use colored pencils and I did start using them, but it wasn't giving me the color I wanted and wasn't giving me enough coverage so I went over it in markers. I tried drawing the circle for the face a few times and that's the best one. I probably could have found something to trace it, but I couldn't think of anything that would give me the right size. I wanted it to fill about half of the paper, but everything was either too big or too small.
I want to make a Cherry Blossom tree with mountains and a sunset in the background. I am going to use acrylic paint on my art. At first I was just going to use the trees, but then I thought mountains, so now I am just going to put them together.
I started out wanting to do just the cab of the truck. After a while and I got more pictures I did the whole truck and made it a little bit 3D. I got my ideas from a book in Mrs. Underhill's classroom that shows you different ways to make a lot of things. I used that to help me get the right sort of shape for most of the truck. I first tried using paint for the truck, but I didn't like how it looked, then I thought about oil pastels, but I knew it would smear and be very messy. In the end I just used pencil and shaded certain parts. I sprayed Workable Fixative on it so the lead didn't smudge everywhere.
